The design goals for this project put a high priority on saving energy and incorporating sustainable materials. The most important element in the lighting system is quality. The common goal of quality lighting design is to enhance visual acuity, thus increasing productivity. The decision to use controls provided cost savings and gave the people working in the area more control over their environment. The primary emphasis was to enhance daylighting, then to build a layered lighting system to enhance and supplement the natural light. Benefits of the lighting system reduced both operating costs and HVAC load.
