The Way Station is a 30,000 square foot health care facility. High quality electric lighting was designed to provide superior visibility, energy efficiency and architectural integration. The electric lighting complements natural daylight in all parts of the facility. This project set many standards for the automated control and management of daylight and electric light and provides an outstanding visual environment which promotes healing. Integration of electric and daylighting systems, use of controls and dimming contributed to the energy-efficient building, resulting in down-sizing of the mechanical system and a reduction in energy costs.
