David began working with Clanton and Associates in 2005 as a Lighting Designer. His broad range of experience includes working for lighting design firms in New York, Memphis, and his own in Oxford, Mississippi. He was lighting project manager for the USGBC Headquarters project, which received the first LEED V3 Platinum rating and exemplifies electric and day light integration in an office environment.

  • Grand Canyon National Park Night Skies Lighting
  • FedEx World Headquarters and their Technology Center (Memphis, TN)
  • The Viceroy Hotel and Spa (Snowmass, CO)
  • Brasada Residential Complex (Bend, Oregon)
  • The Paisano Green, Senior Housing Community (El Paso, Texas)

He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a Theatrical Design emphasis in Lighting with honors from the University of Texas, Austin and additional training at Parsons School of Design and the Lighting Research Center. David is an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), past secretary of the Rocky Mountain Chapter and has won several awards from that organization as well as from the International Association of Lighting Designers. Grateful to be living in Boulder County, Colorado, he is a year-round bicycle commuter.
