Vellachi Ganesan is a visionary lighting designer with over a decade of experience in an extensive range of project types- from hospitality to civil structures, commercial to heritage buildings. She believes in making work that is attuned to human experience while being responsible and inclusive to all inhabitants of the environment.
Vellachi’s experience with light as a medium reaches far beyond the architectural realm. She has worked on a number of light art projects internationally and illuminated several theatrical performances. She has taught as Adjunct faculty in lighting, design, architecture and planning disciplines. Her transdisciplinary background, grounded in the medium of light, allows her to be inventive, cross pollinating ideas laterally. She believes strongly in collaboration with design and engineering teams to collectively create meaningful and thoughtful work, while providing maximal value to the client and end users.
She currently is an Adjunct Faculty teaching as part of the Dark Sky Minor program at the University of Utah and sits on the board of International Dark Sky Association (IDA) - Utah Chapter
